Dear Fellow Optimists,
I would like to thank each
of you for the service and dedication you put toward “Bringing Out the
Best in Children” in your Clubs and in your District. Team spirit has
always been essential to the effective delivery of service rendered by our
great organization. Indeed, the organization is structured with that in
mind, so there is a role for everyone. As our Governors have responsibility
for motivating and inspiring the Members of their Districts, so too our
District Chairs are responsible for reaching out to the Clubs with a view to
ensuring the success of District-level programs, including training. Lt.
Governors must be helpful guides to the Clubs in their Zones, while Club
Presidents and other Club leaders are enjoined to ensure by their deeds and
actions that Club Members not only commit to the mission of service, but
also deliver meaningfully. Like a chain, all of these links are vital to the
success for which Optimists strive. It is therefore not surprising that we
continue to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve in our
various communities.
Again, let me thank you for
the role you are playing in our quest to “Bring Out the Best in Children.”
I encourage you to aggressively pursue the challenge of having our Clubs
aspire to the highest levels of service. At the same time, please be ever
mindful of the value of teamwork, as this is the pillar on which we must
stand as we press on to the greater achievements of the future.
Thank you very much for
choosing to serve the Optimist cause in your District, and I look forward to
a prosperous year as we spread Optimism to new places and to more children!
Peace Be Your Optimist
Journey,

Theodore W. Golding,
President, Optimist
