Optimist Club Of Brazzaville, Republic Of The Congo

Dear Jessica,
Hello, I thank you very much for the letter and I have to reply to your letter. I am BANDZIEMO Etienne, president of Optimist Club of Brazzaville in Congo republic. I am a teacher of deaf children in the National institute of deaf of Brazzaville. I am married and I have three children: two boys and one girl. The important project that we have to do now in our Club is to give some books and copybooks to children. But, as you know the beginning is not easy because we have not enough money. I think it will be possible in the days to come. I would like to know is there is any way for you or for Optimist International to help us. In the future, I will tell you the story of our Club. I send you some pictures showing some of the Club members, me and my wife, me and pupils in a private school of hearing children. I must stop here and will talk to you later.
Your Optimist friend from Brazzaville.

Esprit Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau

On October 8, 2007, the Breakfast Optimist Club of Cape Girardeau became the Esprit Club. Breakfast Club of Cape was chartered in 1956. For several years, it has been a one-member club. President Jerry Keele kept the Charter active and hoped to someday build it back up again.

Esprit Club elected its first President, Janie Meyer, formerly of Cape Evening Optimist Club. Barbara Barnard was elected Secretary/Treasurer. As of this writing, the club has grown from one member to 16 members. It is their hope to be at 35 members by Spring, 2008.

 Congratulations Optimist President Janie Meyer.
